Treating a Cold.
-
Avoid liquids that contain caffeine (coffee, tea or colas) or alcohol.
They can lead to dehydration, exactly what you don’t want.
-
Use a humidifier.
This electric device puts much-needed water into dry winter air.
-
Stop smoking and stay away from other smokers.
Inhaling others’ smoke can further irritate your throat and make you cough even more.
-
Going to work or school won’t delay your recovery, but could spread your cold.
Be considerate: Use tissues and wash your hands frequently to reduce the spread of your cold germs to others.
